Dentures

Elderly male patient smiling and examining a set of dentures during a consultation at a dental clinic.Multiple tooth loss can be effectively replaced with dentures. The mouth structure of every patient is unique, so no two dentures are the same. An individual may be missing teeth for a few different reasons. Many of the patients at Infinity Dental Care ask if dentures can help to fix their bite problems. We can help you determine if dentures are right for you.

A Natural Feel and Appearance For All Ages

Some patients are hesitant to wear dentures because they think they are noticeable and ill-fitting. In the past, this was the case. Nowadays, dentures are more natural feeling and looking. Physical accidents to severe stages of dental disease can all be the cause of a person's lost teeth. Dentures do not, contrary to popular belief, need a particular age of eligibility. Everyone is vulnerable to tooth loss. Dentures allow you to eat, smile, and speak without causing discomfort or causing damage to your teeth.

Types of Dentures

Dentures can be either full or partial. Our professionals can help you find the perfect denture for your smile. Depending on how many teeth are missing, our dentist will make recommendations.

Full Dentures

Full dentures replace all the teeth in the mouth. To create a conventional or immediate full denture, the patient's natural teeth need to be removed prior. After teeth are removed, conventional full dentures will not be immediately inserted. Exact measurements are taken of the mouth to make a denture that fits a patient's mouth correctly. Before a custom-designed denture can be placed, the oral tissue must heal. Patients can wait up to several months for a conventional full denture. This option is usually undesirable for many due to the time it takes without teeth.

Full dentures are immediately inserted after the patient's natural teeth are removed. No long-term removal of teeth is required with this type of denture. However, it must be realigned a few months after it is inserted. Your gums and bone will continue to shift as you heal, so your denture may eventually become loose.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are used when a small section of teeth is missing. A partial denture is supported by a metal framework attached to the remaining teeth. Crowns are frequently placed on specified natural teeth to serve as supportive anchors for the denture.

Implant Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures, such as All-On-4 implants, are a more sophisticated means of securing your dentures to your smile. All-On-4 dental implants are used to support implant-supported dentures. The titanium posts are surgically inserted into the jawbone. Implant-supported dentures are frequently more comfortable than standard dentures, and they also give healthy stimulation to a person's jawbone, which helps prevent face drooping and bone loss.

Dentures Will Last For Many Years

Maintenance is the same for dentures as it is for natural teeth. Properly cared for dentures should last for many years. You may need to adjust your dentures after a jawbone shift or if you lose teeth. If your teeth are missing, dentures will restore the look and function of a strong, attractive smile.
