At Infinity Dental Care, we are in network with many PPO plans and are happy to work with our patients to file on your behalf! Nothing makes our team happier than helping someone save hundreds on their dental care whenever they come to see us. Using dental benefits can be a bit confusing at times and we have a few tips below to help guide you. However, the best advice we can give is to contact your insurance prodiver to learn more about how your specific benefits work.
Understanding How Dental Insurance Works
Here are the 3 most important things to know about your dental insurance plan:
-
Which services are covered?: Most of the time, dental insurance will cover preventive, restorative, and maybe some orthodontic services.
-
What is my annual maximum?: An annual maximum is the highest amount of care a plan will pay for in a given year. This is usually about $1,000-$1,500, and in many cases, any money left over at the end of the year does NOT roll over to the next. Our team can make sure you don’t leave any money on the table.
-
Who is in-network with my plan?: A dental office that is in-network with your plan will be able to offer you more savings than one that isn’t. Fortunately for Hillsboro families, Infinity Dental Care is in-network with almost every dental insurance plan you can think of!
What Your Dental Insurance Plan Covers
Every dental insurance plan is a little different in how it covers certain services, but most follow this basic framework:
-
Preventive services , including checkups, cleanings, dental sealants, and fluoride treatments, are covered 80-100%.
-
Restorative services , which include fillings, crowns, bridges, dentures, and extractions, are covered 50-75%.
-
Cosmetic services like teeth whitening and porcelain veneers are typically NOT covered.
-
Some plans also offer coverage for orthodontic care, but most are restricted to metal braces for patients 18 and under.
